Lost Dog Adventure

& she had the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen...
-
What a morning! My dogs were going APE…. And that bark means loose dog. So I run to the window and all I can see a tail wagging outside the fence. Dang I’m not dress yet but living on the corner gives us the self inflicted (of course) responsibility to catch loose dogs in our closed community. We love dogs so we don’t really mind unless they are aggressive.
-
DANG the owners’ – NO TAGS major pet peeve of mine!!! An animal cannot speak and a tag is the only possible chance for them to find their way home! Oh she was beautiful and thankfully friendly too. I could tell she was still a puppy. The most gorgeous eyes I have ever seen.

I know I looked silly but I sat at the edge of the driveway with pretty dog on a leash and hoped her owner would pass by looking for her. I fed and watered her and we sat. This was after I had already walked down the way to the house I thought she belonged to.

Fortunately, a neighbor who walks by often saw me and stopped by to shared her thoughts and also got me the address of the house I thought it may belong to therefore, I could call if the address was in our community pamphlet. Then to my good fortune, the area exterminator drove up to the house across the street and they knew each other. She inquired if he knew this dog and BLESSING, he thought of a family and tried to reach them. The lady left and he stayed to assist. I then mention the house I thought she belonged to; you could tell a light went off in his head. He drove over to the house. He came back and said he believes the dog does belong there because a second gate which, I did not see when I went there first this morning, well that one was open, it's kind of hidden. He was kind and walked the pretty dog back to the home and brought me back my emergency dog catching leashes. I called and left a message for the home owners to call me when they arrived home to verify she was theirs. I just needed to be reassured pretty dog was at her rightful home.

It totally changed the morning plans for 2-hours. However, I met two neighbors and a really nice service guy. I know he won’t see this but his unselfish act of kindness was so appreciated – may God grant you a fabulous life Fernando, your a good servant.

You are an amazing "Chocolate Mama". As I read this, I couldn't believe it...the differences in our culture are too stark. I guess people may be like that in the more affluent areas here but I have never seen such kindness to a dog...not that I think they should be abused or anything, but its just the care that you have displayed warms my heart....I will learn as I go I guess.

Well done
